Jupiter intervenes in Roman conflict
Romans battle Dacians: Jupiter hurling the thunderbolt. In this scene, after a bas-relief on Trajan's Column, the Roman god intercedes by causing rain and thunder. (It is similar to a scene from the Antonine Column, which refers to a tale that during a battle with the Quadi, during the reign of Marcus Aurelius, a great rain fell that provided water to the parched Roman troops while lightning decimated the barbarians.)
