Macedonian amy defeats Thracian rebels
19th-century illustration, "Defeat of the Thracians by the Macedonian Phalanx." Thrace rose up against the League of Corinth, headed by Philip II of Macedon, in 336 B.C. The revolt was put down by the army of Alexander the Great, Philip's son.
