Eon Images was founded by seasoned picture researchers. After years of providing publishers and multimedia developers with great content for their products, gaining experience with photography companies, royalty-free stock houses, government agencies, university libraries, and private archives, we decided it was time to offer an alternative to the standard way of finding images.
We find new providers, and clear rights ahead of time so you don't have to. We acquire content from government agencies and libraries and provide it to you instantly over the web, sparing you bureaucratic delays. We uncover seldom-seen public domain content. We extensively keyword our images with editorial uses in mind, so that you can find what you need. And, most importantly, we never charge you license fees.
All images are instantly downloadable as JPG files, and range in price from $5-$45. See our FAQ page for all pricing and submission information, and for search tips. New content is posted regularly, described on the NEWS page. Our latest additions can be viewed on the NEWEST IMAGES tab. The Featured Images tab is randomly generated by the site software to provide you with an interesting cross-section of our online collection.
We have thousands of images offline, and are working to bring them to the website as quickly as possible. Our focus is historical content, but we also offer a good selection of newsworthy or interesting contemporary images. Please contact us with any research requests. If we don't have what you want, we can offer below-market rates for doing searches outside our collection on your behalf.
Eon is a member of the American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP), with a client list that includes Enslow Publishers, Greenwood Press, Harcourt Brace, K12, and Oxford University Press.
