Japanese maiden of the mist
Japanese color wood block print, one of several exhibited at the Japanese Court of the Paris Exposition of 1867. Depicts a "maiden of the mist," in a traditional kimono, bearing a makimono (hand scroll) covered in writing, one end of which is held by a spider whose web covers everything.
